On Sept. 18, WALTER hosted its 12th annual WINnovation at The Umstead Hotel & Spa. This year’s celebration of women and innovation in Raleigh and the Triangle featured speakers Lauren Kennedy Brady, Stacey Buescher, Shirnetta Harrell, and Jean Gray Mohs, as well as Bank of America speakers Lauren Woodruff and Kari Stolz. The evening also included a cocktail hour and workshops with Liz Rossilli, Dr. Adrianne Pinkney, and Catherine Jonathan. LevityLifts celebrated its one-year anniversary on Aug. 28 with a party at its Raleigh office. The plastic and advanced cosmetic surgery practice opened its doors in August 2025. Guests enjoyed specialty drinks, bites, giveaways, and had the chance to participate in mini-consult sessions with Dr. Heather Levites.

On Sept. 4, Redbud Writing Project celebrated the opening of its new downtown Raleigh headquarters with more than 100 guests, bringing together writers, readers, and friends for an evening of wine, food, conversation, and live readings. Amanda Bennett, Daniel Wallace, Belle Boggs, and Sylvester Allen Jr. read for the crowd, which filled the beautifully restored historic space. The new headquarters marks an exciting new chapter for Redbud.

On Sept. 10, RTI International opened its expanded RTI Pilot Xcelerator in Research Triangle Park, a $14 million investment that doubles its commercialization infrastructure for energy and industrial technologies. Guests included Congresswomen Deborah Ross and Valerie Foushee, and RTI president and CEO Tim J. Gabel led the ribbon-cutting. The facility helps startups and partners bring lab breakthroughs to market.

On Sept. 22, Raleigh Rescue Mission celebrated the opening of The Garden, its Knightdale campus for women and children experiencing situational homelessness, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The $41 million campus has 101 private rooms and on-site daycare, plus life skills and job readiness programming, raising the mission's capacity to serve women and children from about 60 to 350 people daily.

On Sept. 4, Gallery 20, formerly Glenwood Fine Art, celebrated a new chapter during First Friday. Artists and arts supporters gathered at 20 Glenwood Avenue in downtown Raleigh's historic Carter Building for the gallery’s inaugural exhibition, featuring work by 16 gallery artists alongside Carter Building artists. The show reflects the gallery’s renewed vision, expanded programming, and artist-led approach.

On Sept. 17, W.E.L.D. Wine & Beer in Cary kicked off its three-day grand reopening under new owner Bill Klotz. Guests enjoyed craft beer and wine, food from Balkan's Table, and live music from Justin Abood of Blue Sky Crying, and they met adoptable pups from Second Chance Adoptions. Saturday's Pups & Pints event donated $1 per draft pint to the group.

On Sept. 17, more than 150 business and community leaders gathered at the Poe Center for Health Education to celebrate 35 years, raising more than $105,000 for health-science education for more than 2,100 North Carolina youth. The event featured a silent auction, an awards ceremony, and a cooking demonstration, plus a first look at Wired: The Teen Brain Experience, its new exhibit.

On Oct. 2, Crawlspace Press hosted a First Friday closing reception for Rage With The Machine, a quilt show by members of the Triangle Modern Quilt Guild. The exhibit opened during the Boylan Art District studio tour and featured quilts in which the artists used their craft to speak up for democracy and humanity. Guests gathered to celebrate its close.
